Embossing is a letter-press technique which results in relief contrast in paper or cardboard, where there is no ink used. It is applied by using a die. The relief pattern in the die can be implemented in differing heights, so that the printed result has different levels.

The addition of a token of value, by using embossing, opens up many possibilities (embossing cannot be photocopied), which are not only visible but can also be felt. Embossing, in combination with other printing techniques such as offset, foil or die-stamping, adds a decorative and valuable dimension to your printed matter.
